Well, I lost. Gambling is a rollercoaster ride and I’m bound to make mistakes, but this week, I was really wrong. I was wrong on every game in my cracker trio. And the worst thing was, I was so dead sure of myself. I was cocky and I made gambling seem too easy. For that, the gambling gods grabbed my face mask, pulled me to the ground and stomped on my ribs as they rose from the tackle. It hurt, guys. It really hurt.
Though not as bad as it hurt my gambling partner Tony, who took the exact same picks as me but chose to bet $50 on each game. My bookie was smiling his ass off when I paid him. He has a three year old girl, and lets just say that this illegal venture of his is paying for her college. Needless to say, Tony and I have been drinking draft beer all week.
My Tampa Bay Buccaneers Game Day Summary
Cadillac Williams for mayor. Cadillac Williams for mayor. Cadillac Williams for mayor. Cadillac Williams for mayor. Cadillac Williams for mayor. Cadillac Williams for mayor. Cadillac Williams for mayor. Cadillac Williams for mayor.
Woo, Cadillac!
And that is all.
This Week’s Pick
This week’s pick is a nod to the gambling gods. In my humility, I have decided to go back to the first rule of gambling: stick with the winners. The two bets I’ve won this year were on the teams with the two best winning percentages over the last five years. In keeping with that tradition, I am picking the Patriots to defeat the Chargers in New England. And yes, I know Harrison is out. I don’t care. Champions find ways to win. New England is giving 5. I wagered $50. My juice is $2.
Total Record: 2-2
Total Earnings -$8
College Note
To see my wrap up of last week’s USF game, click here. It was just too awesome to throw into one measly paragraph.
South Florida is playing Miami at Miami. This is the test of tests. We win this, and forget about it, South Florida is a real team. We cover the spread (21 points) and we’re a pretty good team, we get routed and the win against Louisville goes down as a fluke.
My Pick is South Florida to win (I am betting nothing and will probably pick them to win every week because of this). And yes, I realize that Miami is next to unstoppable at home. And yes, I realize that USF is still unproven. And no, I don’t care.
Go Bulls.
