Dear Father,

I'm writing this letter to you because I don't know how else do communicate with you.

Your family is confused and scared – Especially Walt.

As you know, Mother, Walt and I are currently living with Aunt Helen. Mother says it's for the best right now until you get over “your sickness”. But I don't think you're sick.

I mean, you're just acting right?

This whole hillbilly thing was funny at first when we had our halloween bash three weeks ago. I must admit, you were a hit and everyone thought you were so funny. But halloween is over now.

Why haven't you stopped acting like a hillbilly?

Mother says you're probably going through some sort of mid-life crisis that's just turned ugly but I think this is maybe some kind of test. Are you testing Walt and I? I guess Mother is just upset that you haven't given us an answer about this yet and you've lost your job because of this.

Aunt Helen says CEO's don't act like this.

Well, in other news, Walt and I are doing fine at school. Walt won a debating competition and I've been keeping my straight A's. I also just finished reading Shelby Foote's Civil War collection. I really enjoyed it.

I also wanted to ask you if I could drive your BMW if you're currently not using it? I finally asked out Karen at school and we are going out this Friday. Okay I should go now.

Hope you're doing okay.

Gerald
