On Speaking
a poem
I'll tell you, though
why
I've stopped
doing it so much:
One: Everybody's
trying to sell something:
coats, friendship,
milkshakes,
love.
(I'm very
broke
in all regards)
Two: In a moment
of
silence
you can hear a watch
laughing
Three: I'm sick.
You're sick. We're all
sick.
Four:
Even if you say,
‘It's really
a damn shame.'
You don't really
know
what the fuck
you mean.
