Laughter is an important part of everyone's lives. Can you remember the last time you laughed? What caused you to laugh? Who were you pointing at as you laughed? People all over the world laugh. Laughter, over math, is the preferred universal language. Laughter can break cultural barriers. I know this because every time I've vacationed in another country, the local people couldn't stop laughing at me. Seeing all those smiling faces made me feel as if I was still at home.

Some people consider it a good trait to be able to laugh at themselves, which is why I always carry around a mirror.

There are many different ways of laughing, each with their own name. Some people giggle. Some people chuckle. There are even some people who guffaw. But if you hear someone use the word "guffaw," you should laugh at them.

One time, I laughed all the way to the bank. But it was one of those laughs that slowly transitions into deep sobbing. Still a laugh, nonetheless.

I've laughed in the face of danger. But when the face of danger left I had to ask a close friend to explain it to me because I didn't really get it. Once my friend explained it to me I laughed for real, because man, the face of danger was really funny.

Some people say that laughter is the best medicine. If doctors could, they would use it for all their patients. But thanks to the FDA's unreasonable standards, millions of people die every day. Maybe it's for the best though, because if they ended up allowing the public to have access to it, Big Pharmacy would find a way to control and make billions off of it.

Laughing can also be very dangerous. I've seen people laugh so hard they were in stitches. It is important to practice and teach safe laughing. No one deserves to be in stitches after a good joke. Laughing is no laughing matter.

Believe it or not but there are some people who don't even know how to laugh. For example, I told my friend Todd a joke about a squirrel who was sent to a psych ward because he was nuts, and then he didn't even laugh. He just sighed and said, "Please stop calling me at three in the morning." You have to be crazy to not laugh at a joke like that! I wonder how people like Todd sleep at night.

We have even come up with ways to portray laughter in text form. There is "lol," "lmao," and "rofl." If you've ever used any of these in a text, you are an asshole. A simple "haha" is much more appropriate.

Occasionally, people laugh so hard that milk shoots out of their nose. The problem is that people cry over spilt milk and then send you to the principal's office.

There have been thousands of studies on what causes the most laughter, but it is of my opinion that someone slipping on a banana peel is the funniest thing in the world.

Laughter may not always be what it seems. I found this out the hard way when I was tickling my friend Todd. He kept laughing and laughing so I kept tickling him. We were having so much fun and then all of a sudden I got an elbow to the head and was knocked out cold. Moral of the story is that people can lie with their laughs. But don't worry about me. I got back at Todd by sleeping with his wife. I guess you could say I got the last laugh (right after Todd's wife was done laughing at the size of my penis).
